Wechseln eines Uhrenarmbands

Note: this page is only relevant for watch bands that are attached with pushpins/spring bars (and therefore no screws).

By changing your watch band, you can make your watch look like new again within a few minutes.

This is how you change your watch band

Disassembling your old watch band

Before the new watch band can be installed, the old one must be removed. This can be done by means of the pushpins. These pushpins connect your belt with both sides of the watch case. See the video above.

Some watch bands have easy pushpins, for example bands of the brands Cluse and Fossil. Because there is an extra pin, it can be removed more easily. By moving this pin to the left, the band automatically pops loose. In the next video you will be guided through the process of changing your watch band with an easy pushpin. The steps below the video only apply to watch bands without an easy pushpin. These can therefore be left out of consideration.

Steps - disassembling a watch band with (regular) pushpins

  1. 1. Turn the back of the watch case upwards.
  2. 2. Carefully pull out the pushpin by putting a little tension on it. Gently press to the left to make the pushpin pop out. After this you can pull the watch band down gently, so that it comes loose.
  3. 3. Remove the pushpin from your band and check whether it is still in good condition. Replace it when it is damaged. This will prevent you from losing your watch at a later time.
  4. 4. Repeat the steps on the other side so that both bands are removed.

Disassembling your old Swatch watch band

Last but not least, also Swatch bands can be replaced. This is done in a different way than other brands. See the video below for instructions.

Disassemble your old Nato watch band

Another type of watch band is a Nato watch band. Although this type of band is completely different from the other watch bands described above, a Nato band can also easily be disassembled. See the video below.
